HAMLET — The Richmond County Sherriff’s Office has charged a Hamlet man with a sex offense involving himself and a juvenile between the age of 4-7 years old.
Patrick Tyler Brigman, 26, of Deer Trail, is charged with one felony count of first-degree forcible sex offense and one misdemeanor count of resisting a public officer.
Brigman was arrested after an investigation following an incident that was filed with the Sheriff’s Office.
When investigators arrived at Brigman’s residence to arrest him, he allegedly tried to pull away and run from deputies, according to a press release.
Records with the North Carolina Department of Public Safety reveal that Brigman has no prior convictions.
Brigman was processed into Richmond County Jail and placed under a $300,000 secure bond. He’s scheduled to appear in District Court on Feb. 17.
