ROCKINGHAM — On Friday May 21, the North Carolina Highway Patrol responded to a two-car collision on US 220 N which required one person to be airlifted to Chapel Hill.
At 1:45 p.m., a vehicle was attempting to make a left turn onto Billy Covington Road when it was t-boned by another car traveling at 45 mph on US 220, according to Highway Patrol.
Fa’quan Dow was charged with failure to yield to the right-a-way in this incident.
Three individuals were taken to Richmond Memorial Hospital in Rockingham. One individual was flown to UNC Medical Center at Chapel Hill. The helicopter arrived on the scene around 2:10 p.m. A representative from NCHP was unable to confirm the extent of the injuries.
Traffic was halted on US 220 N temporarily after the accident. NCPH Trooper Shane Baldwin responded to the scene.
