ROCKINGHAM — Health care, government and business leaders gathered Monday to mark the opening of FirstHealth Richmond Memorial Hospital’s newly renovated imaging center.

Those in attendance for the ribbon-cutting ceremony included Richmond County Chamber of Commerce members, FirstHealth of the Carolinas representatives, hospital Board of Advisers members and members of the Rockingham City Council and Richmond County Board of Commissioners.

The imaging center offers X-ray, CT, MRI, ultrasound, fluoroscopy, mammography, nuclear medicine, echocardiography and bone density studies.

In addition to the renovation of the imaging department and waiting area, the $3.1 million two-fold project also included the purchase of a new MRI machine and the construction of a more convenient and climate-controlled connector to the unit for patients.

The imaging center entrance is now located next to the hospital’s emergency department. For more information, call 866-415-2778.
