Pinecrest’s Colby Wallace threw a no-hitter against the Raiders Wednesday night, as the Richmond Senior High School varsity baseball team fell 7-0 at home.
The game was originally scheduled for Tuesday, but was postponed to Wednesday after heavy rains swept through the area.
The loss dropped the Raiders to 0-3 to start the season.
The Raiders struggled against the sophomore East Carolina commit, getting on base just three times — twice on walks by junior Matthew Walker and senior Hunter Hancock and once after junior Harley Honeycutt was hit by a pitch.
Wallace faced 22 Richmond batters and struck out 11 of them.
The Raiders used four pitchers against the Patriots (3-0), with Honeycutt getting the start. He threw 3.1 innings, giving up four earned runs off seven hits and striking out one.
Junior Will Dawkins came in and pitched 2.1 innings, giving up one earned run off two hits, while striking out one. Freshman Cameron Seagraves and junior Jude Howard closed things out on the mound.
Richmond and Pinecrest will close out their series Friday in Southern Pines.
