CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are touring high schools in the city and county to talk about teen dating violence.

February is National Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month, and the police department’s domestic violence unit will be working with Community Support Services and several Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools to raise awareness. The tour is scheduled for Friday at seven high schools.

Joining the tour will be members of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Domestic Violence Unit, Community Support Services and Safe Alliance.

A local radio announcer will address students in selected classrooms at each of the schools along students in reference to teen dating violence awareness. Several guest celebrities will join the discussion.
