ALBANY, N.Y. — Georgia Mae Ingram Pickens, 79, of Albany, New York passed away peacefully on Nov. 10, 2017, at Albany Memorial Hospital.

Georgia was born in Ellerbe, on Nov. 6, 1938, to the late Grady and Mary (Stanback) Ingram. She grew up in Ellerbe, where she graduated Mineral Springs High School in 1957, before moving to New York.

Georgia was predeceased by both her parents and husband, Isom Pickens Sr.

She is survived by her children, Isom Pickens Jr. of Albany, Ivan Pickens of Sicklerville, New Jersey and Rosemary Pickens of Albany; her siblings, Booker T. Ingram of Hilton Head, South Carolina, Kathlyn Moody of Pittsfield, Massachusetts, Johnsie Ingram of North Carolina, Gracie Washington of Colonie, New York, Grady Ingram of Albany, and Gladys McCormick of North Carolina. Georgia had a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family and friends.

A visitation will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday, followed by a funeral at 2 p.m. at Bethel Church of God in Christ, 1457 Green Lake Road (Ledbetter Road), Ellerbe, across from Mineral Springs Elementary School. Burial will follow at Snow Hill Cemetery in Mount Gilead. A repast will be held at Bethel COGIC following the burial.
