Deputies: Man run over by his own truck

MARSTON — A 59-year-old Rowland man was killed Sunday when he was run over by his own pickup truck, according to Scotland County Sheriff’s Capt. Mitch Johnson.

Anthony Dial, of 1766 Gaddy’s Mill Road, was pronounced dead by paramedics at a Murphy-Brown LLC site on Nashville Church Road, Johnson said.

Sheriff’s Lt. Ronnie Ivey wrote in his report that Dial was “having trouble with his transmission and his vehicle was not staying in gear,” Johnson said, and he was “accidentally run over by his own vehicle.”

The 911 call came in at 10:20 a.m., Johnson said.
