At 4:08 a.m., officials responded to Safie 5th Avenue following a report of an individual intentionally ramming a vehicle into other vehicles. Damage was estimated at $1,800. Solomon Garcia, 27, was arrested, and the case was closed.
Jan. 18
At 8:24 p.m., Sgt. Brandon R. Bowers responded to U.S. 73 near Ellerbe in reference to a subject fleeing arrest in a motor vehicle and assaulting an officer with a vehicle. Daniel Shane Perkins, 47, was arrested, and the case was closed.
Jan. 20
At 7:52 a.m., Deputy Clyde Smith Jr. responded to East Washington Street following a report of a rolling domestic dispute. Reports state the individual was driving aggressively and recklessly and attempted to flee to elude arrest in a motor vehicle. The individual was in possession of a .40-caliber Glock handgun, valued at $300, and less than one-half ounce of marijuana. Additional reported offenses included driving while license revoked, speeding, following too closely, failing to heed lights or sirens, and driving left of center. The suspect, identified as Cortez Dakota Sturdivant, 26, was arrested, and the case was closed.
