ROCKINGHAM — Early Wednesday morning, workers from Hughes Welding & Crane Services installed new goalposts on the football field at Raider Stadium. The improved uprights are still 24 feet, four inches wide (high-school standard), head football coach Bryan Till says, but they now rise 30 feet in length (NCAAF and NFL standard). Last month, Hodges Lawn & Landscaping took care of the soil in and around the stadium. Till called the field enhancements “a psychological boost” for the coaches and players as they prepare for the upcoming season, which features five home games.
