ROCKINGHAM — Rockingham Dragway is offering one last shot down the famous quarter-mile this Saturday for street racers, bikes and all vehicles for an end-of-summer MXA Street Legal Drags.
The Mass Acceleration Motorsports Street Legal Drags will offer not only quarter-mile time runs, but also competition offering trophies and cash. The “Rock Street Car Shootout,” which is open to licensed and state-registered cars and motorcycles and is set to reward winners with trophies and cash, will be contested at the quarter-mile distance using a dial-your-own elapsed time.
Cars and bikes will each run their own class, with an 8-vehicle minimum.
Spectator admission is $10 for adults with kids 12-and-under free. Cost to take to the track is $25 for every car-and-driver combination. There will also concession specials.
To celebrate the “end-of-summer” street drags, The Rock has extended time on the track with gates opening at noon and unlimited runs from 1pm to 11pm.
Starting next weekend, September 16, The Rock will present 10 straight weeks of unique “feature” events including the Hoosier Tires Carolina Coalition, the national Man Cup Motorcycles Series, and the popular Super Chevy Series featuring a jet dragster match race.
The MXA Street Legal Drags return in December.
