ROCKINGHAM — Dakota Brady (Seagrove) topped Jeremy Ritter (Robbins) in an all-Ford Mustang final round to win Saturday’s Street Car Shootout portion of the weekly Mass Acceleration Motorsports Street Legal event at Rockingham Dragway.

Brady got a free ride to the trophy when Ritter was guilty of a foul start in his 2014 Mustang.

Eric Warren, of Union Grove, earned bragging rights by posting the quickest quarter-mile time during the event in his 2016 Chevy Camaro. Warren stopped the timers in 9.364 seconds at 150.53 miles per hour. Raeford’s Joe Jackson also broke 10 seconds in his 2013 Mustang.

The MXA Street Legal program continues this Saturday, July 29, with the Street Car Shootout plus unlimited time runs for cars, trucks, ATVs and motorcycles starting at 6 p.m. First round of racing in the “Shootout” begins at 8 p.m.

Adult admission is only $10 with children 12 and under free. Parking is free in Rockingham’s main lot.
