MAXTON — Senior midfielder Cassie McFayden had her best game of the season at Purnell Swett on Monday evening.

The Lees-McRae commit scored four of her five goals in the first half of a 7-0 victory on the road. Her last goal would come off of a corner in the last 40 minutes, as she tipped the ball past the Lady Rams’ goalkeeper.

“She scored a couple of pretty goals tonight. She had a couple good runs and opened herself up to be able to score,” coach Bennie Howard said. “She’s a key player for us and hopefully she can continue to put some key goals in the net for us.”

Junior striker Hannah Millen and sophomore midfielder Chloe Wiggins were responsible for the other two Lady Raiders scores in the second half. Emily Buie picked up an assist on one of McFayden’s goals, while Altman Griffin assisted Wiggins’ score.

Richmond (6-0-2, 2-0 SEC) will now take a day to prepare for its “big game” at Lumberton on Wednesday.
