ROCKINGHAM — Richmond Senior unfortunately couldn’t capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost to the Hoggard Vikings at home by a 27-13 margin on Thursday.
Hoggard’s win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from QB Matthew Boring, who threw for 170 yards and 2 TDs (1 INT). Boring also had eight carries for 28 yards.
Looking ahead, Richmond Senior is packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will face off against Scotland at 7:30 p.m. on the 28th.
Scotland (0-1) is coming off a close 25-22 loss at Asheboro.
As for Hoggard, they will take on Jack Britt at 7:00 p.m. on the 28th.
