ROCKINGHAM – Raider Football and Raider Soccer teams are feeling the pressure after both teams took a loss this week.
Football: The Raider Football team took a loss to Rolesville at Raider Stadium on 09/05. Although the team started out strong with an early lead, they weren’t able to maintain the momentum to secure the win. The Raiders lost control of the game in the second quarter and took the 38-20 loss with humbled pride. The Raiders defense proved strong throughout the game, with Jermaine Bright leading the defense’s passes and tackles.
The Raiders now have a losing streak of 1-2, while this was Rolesville’s first win of the season. Richmond will hit the road for their next matchup against Northwest Guilford at 7 pm on Friday.
Soccer: The Raider Soccer team also came up short against the St. Paul Bulldogs on 09/08. This game was a painful reflection of the team’s previous matchup in 2024 at St. Paul. The loss dropped Richmond’s record to 2-5-1.
The Raider Soccer team will also be hitting the road for their next matchup. You can follow them to Montgomery Central on Wednesday the game starts at 6:30 pm. Montgomery Central’s soccer team has shown strong defense this season, so this could be a close match.
