ROCKINGHAM – The JV Raiders are driving their undefeated forward with a 28-21 home victory over Northwest Guilford on Thursday night. This win improves the JV team to 3-0 on the season.
The game was tight early, tied 7-7 after the first quarter. Richmond grabbed momentum with a second-quarter rushing touchdown and took a 14-7 lead into halftime. The Raiders stretched their advantage to 21-7 late in the third and made it 28-7 midway through the fourth quarter.
Northwest responded with a pair of late touchdowns, but Richmond’s early cushion held up, and the JV Raiders secured their third straight win. Next up, Richmond’s Varsity squad will face the same opponent tonight in Greensboro. The Raiders will look to bounce back after a tough showing last week, while Northwest Guilford aims to avenge Thursday’s JV loss. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
