The Richmond Senior High School wrestling team wrapped up its season Tuesday at the 4A Midwest regional tournament at Glenn High School in Kernersville, NC.

The Raiders scored 4.0 points to finish tied for 16th in the 20-team field. Northwest Guilford was the regional champion with 156.0 points.

Richmond’s points came from Kayden Walker in the 170-pound weight class. Walker won by pin against Northwest Guilford’s Dylan Attridge in the first round of the bracket. He then fell to East Forsyth’s Michael Quinones in the quarterfinal by major decision.

Aiden Roundtree lost by pin to West Forsyth’s Emmanuel Jarquin in the first round of the 113-pound weight class. Then, Christian Sanchez fell to Hickory Ridge’s Wyatt Moss by major decision in the first round of the 132-pound weight class.

In the 138-pound weight class, Naamon Perakis was pinned by Porter Ridge’s Syler Weber in the first round. Also, Jadden King lost by pin to West Forsyth’s Tucker Arnold in the first round, as well.

According to Track Wrestling, Andres Sanchez, Michael DeMay and Braxton Jenks did not compete in their respective 120, 145 and 152-pound brackets.
