LETTER: Mail delivery is a bad decision

To the editor:

Have you lost your mind? Oct. 24, 2017 I called your office to be told the Richmond County Journal will no longer be in your home paper box. You have no home carriers anymore and all papers will come in your daily mail by the post office. How unfair or dumb can you be?

I’ve read this paper when it cost 5 cents and sold it when it was a dime. Today, I pay for one year at a time.

I will never renew it again!

If it wasn’t for J.A. Bolton and his wife and Robert Lee, I wouldn’t buy it anyway — plus the obituaries and police news make your paper worth reading.

I don’t have Facebook or a computer and I wouldn’t have them anyway.

It was a poor, stupid person that made this change to my paper. People want their paper in their box at daylight, not wait to 12 p.m., 2 p.m. or 3 p.m. to get our paper (by mail)!

How about all the people you put out of work that brought our paper to our home or business?

My mail carrier has enough work to do without delivering my Journal.

Thank God it is about time to renew my paper for another year. This time, I wouldn’t do it if it was free. I must stop here before I have to repent for what I say. This is not the first time I feel like I’ve been stabbed in the back and it won’t be the last. So let me just say God bless you, Jesus loves you and have a good day.

Joe Lyerly
