To the editor:

Well, well, well — I saw the letter in the Daily Journal by Patti Almanza blaming Robert Lee for the world slave trade that existed hundreds of years ago. How could Robert be responsible since he was born in the early ’50s?

You said those slaves were captured, but you did not say they were captured by other blacks and sold to the merchants for a profit. How in this world could blacks treat other blacks like that? Did they care more for profit than for their own people? You cannot blame Robert or anyone else in the South for that today.

Also, I have never seen one letter from Robert that disrespected the president. He only said Obama has cost millions of jobs with his policies — Obamacare, taxes and regulations have stopped all job growth. Also, Patti, Robert never used the word Dixie one time. Only you with your great hate for Dixie used that word.

Let me tell you this: The word Dixie means 13 states and millions of people. You happen to be sitting right in the middle of Dixie, and we are all proud of the South. We also love the stars and stripes of Old Glory, too. Just ask any vet how he feels about both flags.

As Robert said, people like you want to drive a wedge between the races. Some of those people I saw in the Dixie caravan were black — they love Dixie, too. So you and your beloved Al Sharpton need to back off. Please stop blaming white people for all your misgivings.
