ROCKINGHAM — A woman is facing multiple felony charges after deputies say she tried to pawn stolen power tools.

Richmond County sheriff’s deputies say 26-year-old Melissa Field, of Ashley Street in Rockingham, broke into a building on Gordan Lane near Hamlet and took a Poulan chainsaw and a Craftstman table saw and later pawned them for cash at East Rockingham Pawn Shop.

Arrest warrants — issued May 26 — show the alleged crimes took place between Nov. 17, 2014 and Jan. 21 of this year.

Field was arrested Friday and charged with two felony counts each of obtaining property by false pretenses, breaking and or entering and larceny after breaking and entering. She was booked into the Richmond County Jail under a $5,000 secured bond.

According to the N.C. Department of Public Safety Division of Adult Correction, Field was convicted on two felony counts of larceny by a servant or employee last year.
