RALEIGH — Three Richmond County students recently served as pages in the North Carolina Senate.

Maggi Patrice Chambers, a student at Richmond Senior High School, was sponsored by Sen. Tom McInnis, R-Richmond. Chambers is the daughter of Lester and Carol Chambers of Rockingham.

Emma Louise Capel Stogner and Meredith Lauriana Stogner, daughters of Larry and Karen Stogner of Hamlet, were also sponsored by McInnis and served as pages last month. Meredith Stogner is a student at Scotland Christian Academy and Emma Stogner is home-schooled.

All three students were appointed by Senate President Pro-tem Phil Berger, R-Rockingham.

High school students from throughout North Carolina serve as pages when the General Assembly is in session. They perform valuable duties for the senators and their office staff, Berger said in a release recognizing the pages for their service.

Pages attend daily Senate sessions and committee meetings and assist staff members with office duties during the week they serve in the General Assembly.
