HAMLET — Richmond County Schools is partnering with United Way of Richmond County and Walmart of Rockingham to hold the 12th annual “Stuff the Bus” school supplies drive, which will take place on Tuesday, Aug. 4, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Walmart parking lot.

A school bus will be on site, ready to be filled with donated school supplies that will be distributed to students throughout the district. Last year the drive netted 32,500 supplies such as writing utensils and notebooks.

The supplies will be distributed to each of the district’s schools based on need.

Sponsorship opportunities are available for local businesses and individuals. For more information about the event, contact RCS public information officer Jasmine Hager (910-582-5860 or [email protected]) or United Way Executive Director Michelle Parrish (910-997-2173 or [email protected]).
