Dozens of area children had a happier Christmas thanks to the efforst of the VFW Post 4203 Auxiliary in Rockingham this holiday season. The VFW hosted its annual Kids Christmas Party last Saturday with food, dancing, games and the most popular by far part of the celebration – a visit from Santa. “I’ve been helping with this event since I was 17-years-old,” explained one of the organizers, who preferred to just be called Peppermint Patty, “and I’m 55 now! It’s all about the giving. The kids have such a good time.”
