ELLERBE — Tickets are still available for the Rankin Museum’s annual Reverse Raffle and BBQ on Saturday, May 4.
The event will offer a barbecue meal for two, cooked by Ellerbe native Dwight Carter, and a chance to win $5,000.
Emilie Cobb, director at the Rankin Museum of American Heritage, said there are only 150 tickets available and their goal is to sell all of them. In years past, she said that hasn’t been a problem.
Money raised from the event goes towards general museum expenses including the upkeep of the building.
Dinner for the event begins at 6 p.m. and drawings start at 4 p.m. The dinner and raffle will be held at the Sidney Grove Church of Deliverance located at 401 McIntyre Road, Ellerbe.
First draw will win $25, second draw will win $50, third draw will win $75 and the grand prize of $5,000 will go to the winner of the fourth draw.
Cobb said there is an option to split the prize money, which will be marked upon purchase of the ticket.
“We appreciate the support of the museum,” said Cobb. “(The raffle) is a lot of fun, a good chance to see friends and really good food.”
