HAMLET — The fifth annual Ladies Day Out event — sponsored by Belk, Helms Jewelers, One Stop Print Shop and WLWL Big Wave Radio — will be held at the Richmond Community College Cole Auditorium from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 30.

Sharon Nichols, show organizer, said the goal of the show is to provide a unique experience for the ladies of Richmond and surrounding counties. Nichols said guests come from all over including Fayetteville, Monroe and South Carolina.

“This is a ‘getaway for the girls’ day,” said Nichols. “It’s a shopping day with pampering, fun and entertainment.”

Exhibits for the event include pen and ink drawings, crafts, gourmet dog treats, doll clothes, gourmet food mixes, handmade jewelry, kitchen items, pillows, handcrafted purses, handmade soaps, tote bags, travel planning, watercolor paintings, custom hand-turned wood creations and many others. Nichols said there will be a mixture of local vendors and vendors from surrounding areas including Laurinburg, Pinehurst and Monroe.

From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., the ladies will have an opportunity to make their own smoothie on the ‘Smoothie Bike’ as seen on Shark Tank.

“We have a selection of exhibitors attending, but it isn’t just about the shopping,” said Nichols. “Ladies can get a beauty consultation, a makeup touch up and get their nails done. And on stage, we’ll have entertainment and gardening presentations. There will be lunch and sweet treats available, so this will be a fun day to bring your girlfriends!”

Interim County Extension Director Paige Burns will give gardening tips during the event and a chef from Laurinburg will prepare lunch and other baked goods.

“I’m looking forward to seeing all the pieces come together Saturday,” said Nichols. “There are so many moving parts because we tried to put so many activities together for the ladies. And it’s not just shopping, there are so many things to do.

“I’m excited to see the ladies of Richmond County and other counties come out and experience something different at the Cole,” she added.

The first 50 ladies to arrive will receive a special goodie-bag. Admission is $5. For more information, visit www.LadiesDayOutNC.com.
