ROCKINGHAM — Ned’s Pawn Shop will relocate — about 50 yards — to the property formerly occupied by Bojangles on East Broad Avenue later this year.

Bryan Greene, owner of Ned’s, said the move will allow the shop to expand to allow more room for the gun inventory and general storage.

“By having more room and a newer building we’ll be able to service our customers better,” Greene said.

The new building will be 12,999 square feet, roughly 2,000 more than the current building. There is no official completion date, but Greene said he hopes to be moved in by October. He will maintain ownership of Ned’s current building and rent it out to other businesses.

Ned’s, owned and operated by Greene and his wife, Susie, has been in Richmond County since 1990, and the Greene’s took over in 1996.

Greene purchased building permits in March, and the building currently has its concrete foundation and support beams in place. The new address is 1704 E. Broad Ave.
