ABERDEEN — Two Rockingham men were arrested Friday night on trespassing and theft charges.
Aberdeen police charged Jeremy Ray Ard, 22, of 1301 Village Green Acres, and Henry Luther Heaton II, 30, of 119 N. Long Drive, in connection with a Wednesday theft. Ard also faces charges in a May 23 theft.
Ard was charged with three counts of first-degree trespassing, two counts of misdemeanor larceny and one count of misdemeanor probation violation. He was booked into the Moore County Detention Center in Carthage under a combined $5,000 secured bond.
Heaton faces two counts of first-degree trespassing and one count of misdemeanor larceny. He was jailed on a $2,000 secured bond.
Ard is listed as a probation absconder on the N.C. Department of Public Safety website. He was convicted March 30 on Richmond County charges of hit and run, reckless driving and possession of a Schedule III controlled substance and was sentenced to 12 months’ probation.
Ard’s previous convictions include larceny, possession of stolen goods, selling a Schedule V controlled substance, drug possession, resisting a public officer and possession of a counterfeit controlled substance.
Heaton has no record of criminal convictions resulting in prison time or probation in North Carolina.
Both men are due in Moore County District Court July 14 on the Aberdeen charges.
