ROCKINGHAM — Royal Ambassadors of Cobb Memorial Baptist Church were lauded for their hard work during an annual awards ceremony during which they received trophies, plaques and other honors.

RAs are recognized through curriculum requirements and a points system. Ratings are based on attendance at meetings, bringing a Bible, inviting friends and participation.

“Our guys really enjoy weekly RA meetings on Wednesday nights,” said Clint McKnight in an email. “We participate in Bible stories, missionary stories, camp-craft skills, memorizing books of the Bible, local missions and foreign missions.

“As a matter of fact this group of RAs annually supports a missionary family in the Philippines, and the Bibles Unbound program,” he continued. “Most recently, through the Holy Spirit’s leading and an anonymous donor, we will be able to sponsor an (International Mission Board) well in India for clean drinking water. We are so proud, excited, and thankful for our young men and how the Lord is using them to reach the world from right here in East Rockingham. To God be the glory.”

McKnight concluded with a reading from Ephesians 3:20: “Now all glory to him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.”
