SOUTHERN PINES — O’Neal School alumna Olivia Webb has joined the private college preparatory school as its director of admissions.

Webb started work in her new role on March 14.

Previously executive director of the Richmond Community College Foundation, Webb is a former mayor of the town of Ellerbe and has taught at Episcopal Day School. She attended UNC-Chapel Hill, earning a degree in journalism and mass communication. While at UNC-Chapel Hill, Webb participated in the “Year in Seville” 2004 study-abroad program.

Webb is an active Rotarian, a member of the Millstone 4-H Club Advisory Council as well as a board member for the Senior Games of Richmond County.

The O’Neal School also announced the hiring of Angie Manning, a teacher, team leader and faculty mentor at the Greenhill School in Addison, Texas, as the head of its lower school; Virginia Andres, middle school dean of students and high school placement counselor at the Norwood School in Bethesda, Maryland, as the head of middle school; and Renee Ferrerio, the department chair of counseling for Northview High School in Johns Creek, Georgia, as director of college counseling.

David Williams, the current middle school director, will transition to teaching ninth-grade biology in the upper school and serve as science department head and co-director of O’Neal’s summer programs.

Blanche Hancock, the current director of college counseling, has been appointed to the newly created position of director of alumni relations.

“We are fortunate to have these professionals to join the O’Neal community,” Head of School John Elmore said in a statement. “Each will be bring contributions to these positions that will only allow O’Neal to continue to strengthen its service to our students.”

An independent, college preparatory school for pre-kindergarten age 3 through grade 12, The O’Neal School says it is dedicated to the development of academic excellence, strength of character and the physical well-being of its students. O’Neal says 100 percent of its graduates receive acceptance to colleges and universities throughout the nation.
