HAMLET — Richmond County Veterans will host a community resource and hiring event featuring employers, veterans organizations and other service providers.
The event will take place Saturday, Sept. 5, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Cole Auditorium and Community Center on the Richmond Community College campus. The event will feature resources, door prizes and snacks and is open to the public, including those looking for employment or considering a career change.
The event is designed to connect veterans, transitioning service members, military families and other community members with employment opportunities, supportive services and resources available throughout the region.
Attendees will have the opportunity to meet with employers who are actively hiring, along with representatives from veterans service organizations and education and training programs. Health care and behavioral health providers will also be present to share information about available services.
Representatives from housing and supportive service agencies, community organizations and nonprofits will also be available to connect attendees with resources.
Veterans, military members, veterans’ families and civilians are encouraged to attend. JoAnn Blyther, commander of Ellerbe Post 73, said high school students who attend can register for college scholarship opportunities.
