ROCKINGHAM — Beginning with the 2026-2027 school year, Richmond Senior High School will implement clear bag procedures at all athletic events. The changes are designed to enhance safety while creating a more efficient entry process for students, families, staff and visitors attending Raider athletic events.
“Our goal is to provide the safest possible environment for everyone attending our athletic events,” shared Athletic Director James Johnson. “Many schools throughout our conference already have similar bag requirements in place, and we believe this is an important step in continuing to strengthen safety at Richmond Senior High School.”
Under the new guidelines, fans may bring only approved clear bags, small clutches or wristlets, medically necessary bags and diaper bags accompanying an infant or toddler. Prohibited bags and other prohibited items will not be allowed inside athletic

Principal Joyce McRae said school administrators, the athletic director and district leadership have worked together to prepare
for the implementation. “Athletic events bring together our students, families, staff and community, and we want every event to be a positive experience. These procedures allow us to focus on providing a safe, welcoming environment where everyone can cheer on the Raiders.”
The procedures will be in effect at the first home football game on Aug 21.
