HAMLET — A Rockingham man was arrested for allegedly breaking and entering a building.
According to an arrest warrant issued by the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office on July 23, Christian Hunter Bailey, 31, allegedly attempted to break into a building located at 219 North St. in Hamlet with the intent to commit a felony or larceny. The building was being used as a residence that the owner “was fixing up.”
Bailey was charged with one felony count of breaking or entering and booked into the Richmond County Jail under a $10,000 secured bond. His first court appearance was July 24, and he is scheduled to appear in court Aug. 6.
According to court records, Bailey has previously been convicted of possessing stolen goods and larceny in 2023, larceny in 2022, and possession and use of drug paraphernalia and larceny in 2021.
