RICHMOND COUNTY — Austin Dwayne Brigman, 29, a Richmond County man, was charged with misdemeanor communicating threats after an arrest warrant alleged he threatened to kill a woman, harm her family and damage her vehicles.
The arrest warrant was issued June 23, the same day as the incident, and Brigman was booked into the Richmond County Jail under a $1,000 secured bond that same day. He made his first court appearance June 26 and is scheduled to appear again July 20.
According to court records, Brigman also has pending charges in Moore County. Those charges include felony larceny after he allegedly stole two Apple iPhones from the Target store in Southern Pines in February; two misdemeanor larceny charges and one misdemeanor charge of possession of stolen goods or property after he allegedly stole an Apple Watch Series 3 and an Apple iPad Air in January; and citations for speeding, driving while license revoked, a rear-seat passenger not wearing a seat belt and parking on a sidewalk.
Court records also show Brigman has previous convictions for communicating threats in 2025, driving while license revoked in 2021, second-degree trespassing in 2025 and misdemeanor breaking and entering in 2025.
