ROCKINGHAM – The Raider Baseball Summer Camps had their return this week when Middle School athletes gathered to train.
This is the third summer that these sessions are being hosted since Eric Brown became the Head Coach for the baseball teams. Brown also won the Mid-South 7A/8A conference’s Coach of the Year for the third year in a row this year, meaning he has a lot of expertise to give these children.
This camp begins after a huge season for the Raiders. The Junior Varsity team ended the season with a 10-7 overall record. The Varsity team made it to Round Three of the NCHSAA 7A Playoffs, where they were defeated by the Ballantyne Ridge Wolves. They ended with a 13-2 conference record, which was first place in the Mid-South 7A/8A Conference. Their overall record was 19-7 and they hold a final NC Rank of 111.
The Middle School Baseball Camp began on Wednesday, June 3 and concluded on Friday, June 5. Participants were able to take the field at Richmond Senior High School to train with the Raiders. They participated in drills, threw the ball around and spent time with Raider athletes, who focused on helping these young athletes build their skills.
The Elementary School Baseball Camp will take place next week, beginning on Monday, June 8 and concluding on Wednesday, June 10. There is still time to register your little ones. The camp costs $75 with a $4.75 fee.
