ROCKINGHAM — The Alpha Lambda Chapter of Alpha Pi Chi National Sorority, Inc. proudly hosted its 61st Annual Debutante Cotillion on Friday, April 24, 2026, at West Rocking-ham Elementary School. Centered around the inspiring theme, “I Believe,”the elegant evening celebrated tradition, achievement, and the promising futures of young women in the community.
For more than six decades, the Alpha Lambda Chapter has remained committed to empowering youth through education, leadership development, and community service. The Debutante Cotillion continues to serve as a cornerstone of that mission— providing scholarships, educational opportunities, and cultural enrichment for participating students.
This year’s celebration honored an exceptional group of young ladies, with Crowned Queen for the 2026 Debutante Cotillion, Miss Taylor Simone Newton.
She was joined by her distinguished court, including Maid of Honor, Miss Haras Shalette Lockhart, First Attendant, Miss Ella Evelyn Parker, and Second Attendant, Nakeelah Cleora Hill.
The program featured a formal presentation of debutantes, elegant waltzes, and a crowning ceremony, along with special recognitions for academic achievement, talent, citizenship, and overall excellence— highlighting the well-rounded accomplishments of each participant.
The Alpha Lambda Chapter, known for its longstanding impact in civic, educational, and community initiatives, continues to uphold its legacy of service by investing in the next generation. Through the Cotillion, the organization not only celebrates tradition but also reinforces its dedication to developing young leaders and fostering a spirit of excellence.
