ROCKINGHAM – The Raiders Baseball team moved forward in the 7A playoffs when they beat the Butler Bulldogs on Friday, May 8.
The baseball team was able to secure a 5-0 victory, which moved them forward into the third round of the playoffs. Senior Maddox Locklear went 2-for-3 and scored a run. Junior Drew Gause went 2-for-3 with a scored run and a stolen base. Sophomore Devin Haynes had two RBIs. Freshman Noah Stubbs had an RBI double. Senior Caden Nolan hit a double and scored a run.
Nolan pitched the entire game, shutting down the Bulldogs from scoring. He only allowed two hits out of 94 pitches, but allowed no runs and struck out 11 of their players. Butler was unable to get any runs home because of the pressure applied by Nolan.
