WAXHAW – The Lady Raiders Soccer Team was unable to move to the second round of the playoffs on Monday, May 11.
The Cuthbertson Cavaliers came in with an overall record of 9-8-1, conference record of 6-6, and an NC Rank of 69. Despite the odds being in the favor of the Cavaliers, Richmond would try their best to advance in the playoffs. In the end, the Lady Raiders would be defeated 8-1.
In the two games before this, the Raiders would tie both times. On May 1, they tied 0-0 with Pinecrest in a conference game. On May 5, they tied Montgomery Central 0-0. The Lady Raiders had no momentum going into this playoff match, unlike the Cavaliers, who were coming in with a three win streak.
The season ends with the Varsity Raiders having a 5-12-4 overall record, 1-7-2 (5th) conference record, a national ranking of 1968, and an NC ranking of 277. The Junior Varsity Raiders had an overall record of 7-6-1 and a conference record of 3-4-1.
