RICHMOND COUNTY — Sheriff Mark B. Gulledge recently announced Captain David Wall’s graduation from the North Carolina Jail Administrators Institute

Sheriffs’ jail administrators from across North Carolina attended a series of training classes covering topics including North Carolina jail rules and inspections, law enforcement recordings, ethical leadership, emergency preparedness, safekeepers, extraditions, social media, workplace resilience, and leadership. This class also included panel discussions and opportunities for collaboration among students and their colleagues.

Jail administrators are responsible for the day-to-day operation of a county detention facility, ensuring the jail runs efficiently and effectively on behalf of the county sheriff.

The Leadership Institute was developed by the North Carolina Sheriffs’ Association to promote effective leadership among North Carolina county jail administrators by providing high-quality training classes, mentoring, and resources for both new and veteran jail administrators.
