ROCKINGHAM — The General Henry William Harrington Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR) presented the DAR JROTC Bronze Medal to Cadet First Sergeant Nalley Guzman during the Richmond Senior High School Army JROTC “Raider Battalion” Formal Dining-Out and Awards Ceremony.
A Dining-Out is a traditional military event that brings cadets, instructors, families, and community partners together for an evening of ceremony, fellowship, and recognition. The program highlights the achievements of the battalion and honors cadets for their leadership, discipline, and service.
Cadet Guzman was selected for the DAR JROTC Bronze Medal based on her exceptional leadership, character, and academic performance. She maintains a 3.2 GPA and plans to attend college to pursue a career as an X-Ray Technician and Army Combat Medic. Known for her confidence, compassion, and strong sense of responsibility, she is highly respected by both peers and subordinates within the Raider Battalion.
The DAR JROTC Bronze Medal is awarded annually to one outstanding junior or senior cadet who demonstrates loyalty, patriotism, dependability, good character, adherence to military discipline, leadership ability, military achievement, and scholastic excellence. Recipients must rank in the top 25 percent of both their JROTC program and academic coursework and show a strong, patriotic understanding of the value of JROTC training.
