RICHMOND COUNTY — Two separate investigations in Richmond County led to multiple arrests this week, according to officials.
On Thursday, March 26, at about 8:40 a.m., officers with the Rockingham Police Department executed search warrants at residences on Brookwood Avenue and Long Drive. The warrants were obtained following an investigation conducted by the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office Community Impact Team.
During the searches, investigators seized about 198 grams of fentanyl, nearly $8,000 in cash, two high-capacity drum magazines and assorted drug paraphernalia.
Daquan Lamont Everette, 33, of Rockingham, was charged with trafficking fentanyl and possession with intent to sell, deliver or manufacture fentanyl. He was also served with outstanding warrants for conspiracy to sell or deliver cocaine. Everette was placed in the Richmond County Jail under no bond.
Felicia Antoinette Legrande, 44, of Rockingham, was charged with maintaining a vehicle, dwelling or place for controlled substances. She was released under a $10,000 unsecured bond. The case remains under investigation and additional charges may be filed.
In a separate case, deputies with the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office assisted authorities in South Carolina in locating a suspect wanted in connection with a kidnapping investigation.
On March 25, deputies helped Chesterfield County, South Carolina, investigators find and arrest Kendrick Marquel Terry, 29, of Hamlet. Terry was wanted on kidnapping charges involving a 23-year-old woman reported missing March 23 in Cheraw, South Carolina. The victim was later located safely.
Investigators tracked Terry to the Dobbins Heights community, where he was taken into custody without incident, according to officials. Terry was charged locally with one count of fugitive from justice and booked into the Richmond County Jail under a $250,000 bond. He later appeared before a District Court judge and was extradited to South Carolina.
