RICHMOND COUNTY — The General Henry William Harrington Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR) proudly recognized two outstanding Richmond County high school seniors on February 17, 2026, as part of the annual DAR Good Citizen Award program.
Richmond Senior High School Honoree: Jada Scott
Jada Scott was selected as the DAR Good Citizen for Richmond Senior High School. A dedicated scholar and leader, Jada is a member of the National Honor Society, National Technical Honor Society, Beta Club, and several other academic and service organizations. She is actively involved in school life, extracurricular activities, and a wide range of volunteer efforts throughout Richmond County. Her commitment to service and leadership exemplifies the qualities celebrated by the DAR Good Citizen program.
Richmond Early College High School Honoree & Chapter Winner: Andrew Zhi He
Andrew Zhi He was selected as the DAR Good Citizen for Richmond Early College High School and named the Chapter Winner for 2026. Andrew’s academic achievements include being a Yale Young Global Scholars Alumni – Solving Global Challenges, a University of Pennsylvania Penn Early Exploration Program Alumni, and a North Carolina Governor’s School Alumni in Natural Science at Meredith College. He has logged over 100 hours of community service, demonstrating a deep commitment to civic responsibility and leadership.
About the DAR Good Citizens Program
The DAR Good Citizens Committee seeks to illuminate high school seniors who help renew and strengthen the democracy first secured by the Patriots of the American Revolution. Students selected as DAR Good Citizens must embody the following qualities:
• Dependability – truthfulness, honesty, punctuality
• Service – cooperation, helpfulness, responsibility
• Leadership – personality, self-control, initiative
• Patriotism – unselfish loyalty to American ideals
Each school may honor one senior per year, who receives a DAR Good Citizen pin and certificate. Students may also participate in an optional essay scholarship contest, with winners advancing through district, state, and national levels. Ultimately, one national winner will receive a $10,000 scholarship. Each step of the process provides opportunities to highlight these exceptional students, their educators, and their families.
