RICHMOND COUNTY — The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office said Friday that a missing Richmond County man has been located.
Sheriff Mark B. Gulledge announced that the Missing Persons Task Force worked throughout Thursday and into the early morning hours of Friday to locate Bobby Reece Bryant Jr.
Bryant, 53, was last captured on a door camera on Battley Dairy Road at 11:18 a.m. Tuesday, March 10, 2026, and was reported missing by his family the following day.
Officials previously said Bryant experiences cognitive challenges and was last seen wearing an orange Clemson Tigers shirt, dark shorts and shoes. Officials said he was driving a white 2022 Ford Escape with a temporary tag.
According to the sheriff’s office, Bryant had been entered into the National Crime Information Center, a 24/7 centralized database managed by the FBI that provides law enforcement agencies with information to help locate missing persons and support other criminal justice matters.
“My team and I approach every missing persons case with the highest level of urgency and dedication. We will exhaust every available resource to locate individuals and reunite them with their loved ones as swiftly as possible,” said Sheriff Gulledge in a previous media release. “To strengthen our efforts, I launched the Missing Persons Task Force that includes local, state, and federal partners to reexamine evidence, develop new leads, and implement innovative strategies that go beyond traditional investigative methods. Our priority is to bring families the answers and closure they deserve.”
“Unlike in some previous missing persons cases, the task force was able to leverage the vehicle’s digital footprint to pinpoint his location. We determined he was in the Charlotte area and coordinated with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department to check several locations, ultimately finding him asleep in his car,” said Sheriff Gulledge.
