HAMLET — Hamlet has announced the full lineup for the 2026 Hamlet Boxcar Concert Series, which will be held every fourth Friday from April through October at 6 p.m. at Main Street Park.
The series will open April 24 with a performance by Low Down Dirty Heathens, described as a “genre-bending powerhouse blending Southern Rock, Swamp blues, and outlaw country.” The band includes Joe Frye on guitar and vocals, Donnie Smith on drums and vocals, and Ronnie Latham on bass and vocals.
Vagabond will perform May 22. The band includes guitarist and vocalist John Baker, bassist and vocalist Patrick Razon, drummer Anakin White and guitarist Logan Watts.
On June 26, Beach Fever Band will perform a mix of music from the 1960s through today, including beach, country, rock, blues and pop. Members include guitarist Carl Giddens of Rockingham, vocalist, guitarist and saxophonist Kevin Parrish of Hamlet, bassist Gary Raines of Rockingham, drummer NiQuan Sims of Scotland County, and keyboardist and vocalist Zachary Kendall of Scotland County.
Good Company will perform July 24. Band members include Eric Whitfield on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, Brian Grooms on lead guitar, Eddie Brown on vocals and drums, and Phil Burgess on bass.
Jonathan Robinson Music will perform Aug. 28. The band includes Jonathan Robinson on guitar and vocals, Joe Felice on bass and vocals, and Rob Dufrense on drums.
Richmond County native Erik Hawks and the Hardluck Band will perform Sept. 25. The Radio will close the series Oct. 23.
The Boxcar Concert Series began in 2022 on Sunday afternoons and later moved to Friday evenings to align with TGIFridays food trucks on Main Street, where food trucks are set up near the Hamlet Depot and Museums.
“We have a lot of the same local bands, but a new band this year is Low Down Dirty Heathens. One of the band members is from Rockingham,” said Mechelle Preslar, director of community engagement. “So they haven’t played the Hamlet Boxcar Series before, so we are really excited. We’re excited to welcome back the other bands that have played before.”
