ROCKINGHAM — The Richmond County Animal Shelter will host a “Kissing for a Cause” adoption event Saturday, Feb. 28, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., giving residents an opportunity to meet adoptable animals.
“Come get puppy kisses, spread some love to our shelter animals, and help them find forever homes!” read a post by RCAS.
The event will include a puppy kissing booth where visitors can “stop by for a slobbery smooch from one of our sweet pups!”
Pawentines treat grams will also be available for purchase. For $2, participants can send a treat to a shelter dog, cat, puppy or kitten. The sender’s name will be written on a paper heart and displayed on the shelter walls.
“Join us for Kisses for a Cause at Richmond County Animal Shelter! Come meet our adoptable dogs and cats and maybe even find your new best friend,” said RCAS in the Facebook event post.
Earlier this month, the shelter reported it needs donations of cleaning supplies for floors and kennels. The shelter also reported it is over maximum capacity. Officials encourage residents to consider adoption or fostering. Fostering options are available for those unable to adopt.
The shelter has previously hosted adoption events, including Clear the Kennels for Christmas and a Paw-some Easter Adoption.
