RICHMOND COUNTY — A winter weather advisory was issued Wednesday evening for central North Carolina, including Richmond County, as freezing rain is expected through 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 5.
“Very slippery sidewalks, roads and bridges are possible. The hazardous conditions could impact the Thursday morning commute,” the advisory states.
Richmond County Schools announced students will return to class Thursday, Feb. 5 on a two-hour delay “to allow all students and staff to travel during daylight hours.”
All buses will operate on their regular routes two hours later than the normal schedule. Students are expected to bring all completed remote work to school to be counted present for previous remote instructional days.
“Thank you all for your continued patience and understanding throughout this winter storm,” read a social media post made by Richmond County Schools. “We are excited to welcome students back tomorrow!”
