ROCKINGHAM — Rockingham police are asking for the public’s help following a breaking and entering reported early Monday morning at #1 Diner, a locally owned restaurant on South Hancock Street.
The incident occurred Jan. 26 at the restaurant, located at 953 S. Hancock St., according to the Rockingham Police Department.
“The subject forcibly gained entry by damaging the exterior wall of the business and stole a surveillance camera, assorted candy, and a pickle jar,” read a post made by RPD on social media.
According to #1 Diner, this marks the third break-in at the local restaurant.
Anyone with information related to the case is encouraged to contact Detective Jan Owens with the Rockingham Police Department at 910-895-2468. Tips may also be submitted anonymously through Richmond County Crime Stoppers by using the free P3 Tips mobile app or by visiting the Crime Stoppers–Richmond County, NC Facebook page.
Tips leading to an arrest may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000. #1 Diner is also offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the identification of the person responsible, bringing the total possible reward to up to $2,000.
