HAMLET — Two Hamlet siblings were arrested this week following a narcotics investigation that led authorities to a residence on Louis Breeden Boulevard, according to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.
In a media release, the sheriff’s office said its Community Impact Team, with support from the Special Response Team, issued and served a search warrant Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2026, at the residence.
William Ethan Garner, 27, and Jameson Claire Garner, 25, were taken into custody and charged with possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver fentanyl; maintaining a dwelling for keeping a controlled substance; and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Both were processed and booked into the Richmond County Jail. William Garner received a $20,000 secured bond, while Jameson Garner received a $15,000 secured bond.
According to court records, William Garner is currently serving an 18-month probation sentence following a November 2025 conviction on two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia. Those convictions followed a 2024 arrest in which authorities reported finding 2.1 grams of fentanyl, 1.9 grams of methamphetamine and 6.6 grams of cocaine at his residence.
Court records show Jameson Garner has multiple traffic citations pending in Richmond and Moore counties, including speeding and expired registration. She was convicted of cruelty to animals in 2024.
Both siblings are scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 12.
