ROCKINGHAM — The General Henry William Harrington Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution proudly announces that Brenda Baucom has been awarded the North Carolina Outstanding Senior Award at the chapter level. The recognition was presented during the regular chapter meeting on January 7, 2026, and Brenda will now advance to compete at the state level.
A devoted Daughter of the American Revolution since April 13, 2002, Brenda has dedicated 23 years of exceptional service to the chapter and to the DAR mission of historic preservation, education, and patriotism. Her leadership record is both distinguished and enduring. She has served as Chapter Historian (2003–2010), First Vice Regent (2005–2010), and Treasurer (2010–2027). In addition, she has chaired numerous committees, including Celebrate Daughters, DAR Good Citizens, the President General’s Special Committee, and Budget and Finance at both the chapter and state levels.
Brenda’s commitment extends far beyond her official roles. She is a faithful and enthusiastic participant in chapter events such as the American Revolution Experience, Good Citizens Dinner, Memorial Day ceremonies, Bells Across America, and Patriot Memorial Services. Her service to veterans is heartfelt and consistent — providing T-shirts, puzzle books, holiday cards, and support for the VA Food Pantry. Through Project Patriot, she has contributed to initiatives including “Show the Military Some Love,” Military Child Welcome Back Packs, the Holiday Card Challenge, and the Ceremonial Guard Pantry.
Known for her kindness, humility, and unwavering dedication, Brenda embodies the true spirit of DAR service. She lifts others up quietly, never seeking recognition, and leads with compassion, gratitude, and steadfast patriotism.
