ROCKINGHAM — Veterans and active-duty military in the Richmond County area can take advantage of numerous free meals, discounts and special events to honor their service on and around Veterans Day 2025.
Local businesses and national chains with a presence near Richmond County are recognizing service members with a variety of offers on Tuesday, Nov. 11, and throughout the celebratory weekend.

Local Spotlight
Rockingham Dragway: The venue is hosting its “Freedom at The Rock” event on Sunday, Nov. 9, offering free admission to active military, veterans, first responders and their families. The day will feature a car show, racing and a flyover.

Food and Drink
Applebee’s: Veterans and active-duty military receive a free full-size entree from a special menu on Nov. 11.
Carolina Ale House: Veterans and military members get a free half rack rib platter on Nov. 11 at all North Carolina locations.
Chili’s: A free meal from a select menu is available for veterans and active military on Nov. 11.
Cracker Barrel: Enjoy a complimentary Sunrise Pancake Special on Nov. 11.
Denny’s: Veterans and military personnel can get a free Original Grand Slam breakfast from 5 a.m. to noon on Nov. 11.
Food Lion: Active-duty military personnel, veterans and their families receive a 10% discount on their entire grocery bill on Nov. 11 with a valid MVP card and military ID.
Golden Corral: The annual Military Appreciation Night on Nov. 11 offers a free dinner buffet and beverage to veterans and active military from 4 p.m. to close.
IHOP: A free Red, White, & Blueberry Pancake Combo is offered to veterans on Nov. 11.
Little Caesars: Get a free lunch combo from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Nov. 11.
Olive Garden: Veterans and active military can select a free entree from a special menu when dining in on Nov. 11.
Outback Steakhouse: On Nov. 10 and 11, Outback is offering a free Aussie 3-Course Meal with a valid military ID.
Sheetz: Active military and veterans are invited to enjoy a free half turkey sub and a regular-size fountain drink on Nov. 11. Sheetz also offers a free car wash at locations with one.
Starbucks: Veterans, active military and military spouses can get a free tall brewed coffee on Nov. 11.

Autobell Car Wash: A free Ride-Thru Exterior wash is available for veterans and active-duty service members on Nov. 11 at all North Carolina locations.
North Carolina Zoo: Veterans, military personnel and their spouses get free admission from Nov. 8–14. This offer also extends free admission to up to three additional guests.
Target: A 10% military discount is offered through Nov. 11 to all active-duty military personnel, veterans and their families.
Walgreens: Veterans, military and their families can receive 20% off eligible regular-price items from Nov. 8–11.
