SOUTHERN PINES — A Moore County man was arrested on murder and arson charges Saturday following the June 15 deaths of two people whose bodies were discovered in a burned home.

Edward Dale Ager III, 33, of Vass, is accused of setting fire to the 890 W. Lowe Ave. home and killing two people. Southern Pines police identified 31-year-old Lindsay Suzanne Farwell of West End as one of the victims.

Medical examiners have not yet positively identified the second body found in the home.

Police are still investigating the deaths with assistance from the State Bureau of Investigation. Police Chief Robert Temme said in a Saturday statement that more information would be released as the probe progresses.

Ager is charged with two counts each of first-degree murder and first-degree arson. He is being held without bond in the Lee County Detention Center in Sanford.
