RICHMOND COUNTY — An East Rockingham man was arrested after a narcotics investigation led deputies to seize drugs, firearms, and cash.
A search at a Church Street home uncovered 76.87 grams of methamphetamine, 18.09 grams of fentanyl, three firearms, and $9,157 in cash, the sheriff’s office said.
The resident, Larry Stewart McDonald Jr., 34, was charged with trafficking in opium or heroin, trafficking in methamphetamine, maintaining a dwelling for controlled substances, possession of a firearm by a felon and possession of drug paraphernalia.
McDonald was booked into the Richmond County Jail without bond. He had already been out on bond for previous trafficking and drug-related charges.
The sheriff’s office Special Response Team, the Criminal Investigations Division, and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation assisted with the Sept. 5 search warrant.
“This collaboration among multiple agencies demonstrates our commitment to ensuring the safety and security of our community,” Sheriff Gulledge said.
